What differentiates one hot tab from the other?

The following points make the most difference between inflatable hot tubs.

The price

Most Inflatable spas are priced between 300 $ up to 1,000 $ in the US, it’s the same price range in the UK , only that in the UK, the price is in pounds. Of course, the more advance features the more it will cost.

Key Feature in Top Hot Tubs

  • Water-jets (The most important feature in every hot tub)
  • LED underwater mood lights
  • Saltwater treatment system
  • Space for more people

There are two main types of jets

  1. Air Jets

  • Most of the inflatable hot tubs have air jets. They are not costly in terms of cost of production because they reuse the same blower that inflates the spa when setting up to push the air through a hose, into a ring on the floor with holes in, giving an amazing massage that in turn helps your body to relax well.
  • The advantage of Inflatable hot tubs with air jets is that they are cheaper than those with water jets yet very pleasant.
  • The disadvantages are that the blower can be loud, the heater often cannot be run simultaneously with air jets as they cool the water very fast.
  1. Water Jets / Hydro Jets

Water jets are commonly incorporated in conventional built-in Jacuzzi; yet they are seldom found in an inflatable spa because; Water jets need a powerful water pump and high-quality and reliable water piping which makes the cost of manufacturing to be high.

In our top 9 list, it is only the salsa Hawaii that has this feature.

Pros of Water Jets
  • The advantages of Water/hydro jets are that the high-pressure jet spouts make for good massaging experience hence more relaxation in comparison to air jets.
  • The water pump is less noisy than the air jet. There is no heat loss due to the cold air being pushed into the water. This is a good combination for relieving sore muscles.
  • Hot tubs with hydro jets also come with air jets. This means that you are getting both experiences.
Cons
  • The disadvantage of the Water/Hydro jets is in the pricing. The price is normally double that of an ordinary air-jet inflatable hot tub.

Size capacity& Design

The smallest inflatable hot tub available is the two-person spa while the big ones take up to six people in them.

The volume of water it carries ranges from around 150 gallons up to 300 gallons of water. The 6people hot tub becomes quite heavy when filled hence must be placed on a firm surface.

Most of the hot tubs have very strong walls hence people can sit on their frames without the weight causing them to bulge. Our best 9 hot tubs mostly have used the best quality materials to construct the tubs.

Another important aspect is the heating unit. Most of the hot tubs have an external adjacent unit where all the important stuff is (heater, blower, a control panel on top). In some of the latest hot tubs in the market, the units are in-built in the wall of the spa this is beneficial for people with limited space.

Special features

The cost of the hot tub is determined by the number of features it has. Fewer features cost less while more features cost more. The choice is up to the customer’s wish.

  1. LED- Underwater mood lights

This amazing feature is only currently available on the Salsa Paris hot.

  1. Saltwater system

The saltwater system eliminates the need for adding chlorine or shocking your spa hence saving on time and energy. Even more beneficial is that the water in the spa won’t have chlorine smell that traditionally has been used to sanitize old model pools. This is good news for people who have problems breathing the air with the smell of chlorine

  1. Super unique feature!

This is an inflatable spa that is joined with a pool for children!

Half of the pool is meant for your children with cool water because it is risky to do excessive physical activity in hot water and the other half is a hot tub for adults to relax in.

Besides the need for a big space, it is a perfect choice for a family with children. Children usually don’t enjoy staying calm and relaxing in a hot tub.

Why Salsa Hawaii inflatable Jacuzzi?

  • Hydro jets are not a common feature in inflatable hot tubs. They provide the ultimate massaging experience by thrusting water through the adjustable nozzles at high speed.

This is one of the new hot tubs in the market. We shall be careful about it because its weaknesses have not yet been discovered but so far so good.

We saved the best for last! this is a hybrid of hot tub and a pool!

Check price & user reviews on Amazon

How does it work?

  • We know children often enjoy playing and having fun in a pool of cold water while parents would rather soak in a hot water and relax.
  • This hot tub offers you the luxury of being in a pool with the young ones with each of you enjoying the water temperature that is favorable with each of you. You can play games, like throwing a ball, together with your children as they will be playing in the pool, while you enjoy a hot and relaxing soak.
  • The hot tub part, which is smaller, can take up to 4 people. The pool part is bigger and can take between 4-6 people.
  • This combination of hot and cold comes with built-in hard water treatment, to prevent clogging of the water pump and to make water more pleasant to the skin.
  • An insulated cover that Intex has included in the hot tub helps in reducing heat losses.
Advantage
  • Unique
  • Perfect for families with children
  • Hard water treatment
Disadvantage
  • Occupies a large space.

So, which is the best hot tub to buy? A non-inflatable portable hot tub is usually more expensive than a similar inflatable spa because it offers much more.  Like physically shaped seats with real water jets that provide the same relaxation as a built-in hot tub.

Most of the inflatable spas will work in a mild winter, however, our most recommended inflatable hot tub for winter is the Coleman Lay Z Spa.

According to Coleman-(manufacturer), you should not use it under 40 degrees Fahrenheit (This may void your warranty.) However, a majority of users have done so without any trouble. Always remember to be careful! The real risk is; in case of a brief electricity outage, the heater has to be restarted back manually. If the water in the heater freezes, the damage is usually irreversible.

One type of hot tub to stay away from!

Radiant Saunas Simplicity

Brand         Radiant Saunas

Model        BP5767

Capacity    2-4 person

Our Rating 2.0

Our advice:  Do not invest in it!

Average looking for an average price. You can find much better inflatable spas on our TOP list.

What it offers.

Enough room to sit 4 people according to the manufacturer. As is with all other “4 person hot tubs”.

The digital control panel is located on the top of the water pump/heater unit. This unit is pretty small compared to the competition, so controlling the digital control panel from inside the water is trouble. You have to reach your hands over the side of the spa, and blindly push the buttons which as you can imagine is inconveniencing.

If you want to see a nicely designed control panel, check out this Go plus hot tub.

As with all blow-up spas, this one is easy to set up and use too. It will self-inflate using the air blower that later produces massaging bubbles. This is just normal, nothing special.

Starter chemicals for shocking and treating the hot tub are not included!

Final verdict: We would not recommend this one.

Why should you buy an inflatable water tub?

  • Their main advantage is actually in the name. They are portable! You can conveniently use them whenever you want.
  • The second advantage is that they are easy to store. One of the main reasons why people choose movable hot tubs is because they do not have enough space around their home to put a full-sized hot tub. This is why an inflatable hot tub is more preferred. You can just inflate it anywhere you want then deflate it once you are done and store it.
  • The obvious advantage of an inflatable hot tub is the fact that it will not take up too much space and can be moved to any place of your choice.
  • They also do not take up much space.

Note;

Always remember that heating takes quite some time. So it might be a good idea to start setting up a day earlier.)

Finally, inflatable hot tubs are much cheaper than their permanent counterparts.

The quality of the materials used means that you can place them on just about any flat surface and not have to worry about them cracking or breaking.
